Hansel and Gretel May 9-11

Tickets are now on sale for Young Footliters’ production of Hansel and Gretel!  Tickets are available online, by phone at 319.248.9370, and in person at the CCPA box office  (1301 5th Street) and Coralville Rec Center (1506 8th Street).

This wonderfully entertaining version of the classic tale, penned by Vera Morris, is guaranteed to delight young audiences. When Hansel and Gretel are sent into the woods, they encounter some marvelous folk — an arrogant troll who fiercely guards his little wooden bridge, a talking owl, a forest sprite and two hobgoblins in the service of the nasty (and hilarious) witch.

Tremble for Hansel as he’s locked in a cage and fed nothing but fudge and cake. Cheer Gretel as she outwits the crone and sets free all the lost children who have been turned into cookies! All the moments are here, from the night spent in the woods to the discovery of the candy-coated little cottage.

Directed by Dave Helmuth and featuring a cast of local children in grades 1-8.  Performances are Friday, May 9 at 7pm, Saturday, May 10 at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday, May 11.
