For auditions, you may prepare a short monologue or poem OR you may choose to do a cold reading. A cold reading means you will simply read from the script that the director will provide for you.

Children in grades K-5 are eligible to audition.  The director will consider gender-blind casting and a maximum of 30 children in ensemble and featured roles will be cast.

Here at Young Footliters Youth Theater we believe that children’s theater changes lives. It builds confidence, encourages teamwork, develops social skills, and enables kids to achieve a sense of mastery and an area of stagecraft. On top of it all, putting on a play is fun!

If cast, Young Footliters Youth Theatre does have a $30 annual per family membership fee and a $30 participation fee for this production to help cover costs (such as costumes, sets, props, painting, royalty rights, performance and rehearsal facilities).  Thank you for your understanding and support.  We understand that participation fees may make it difficult for your child to be involved in a show.  Scholarships are available through the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts for families with financial need.
